Blake Shelton: Commercial breaks we’re all sitting there flipping through twitter and somebody said on there, and I responded to this, “Tell Christina she needs to cover up those boobs.” And I was like, why would anybody ever tell her to EVER do that. She even said, I told her, look at this, and she said, “I’m gonna write that my boobs are the fifth judge.”
Warning you all, I just blew through the first season and I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS FUCKING SHOW. As someone who has sang her whole life and who adores hearing other people sing, this is the competition for me. It’s super positive and everybody is always hugging and crying and affirming and validating each other. The top 4 of season 1 had two lesbians, one of whom was adorably butchie and had a shaved head. She was amazing. So much of reality tv is negative and mean-spirited and every queer person involved is a massive stereotype that they give the psycho-edit to. This show makes my soul FLY.
Also, the top 4 only had one white person in it and it was the gorgeous shaved head woman. So there, America! And as someone who has always LOVED Xtina, I adore her giggly sauced up critiques and the banter she has with the other coaches and how much she bonds with her team.
Tell me NOTHING about season 2. I only finished season 1 earlier tonight. NO SPOILERS, GUISE.
